The MedicationScan from AIT enables fully automated capture of DataMatrix codes (DMC) and barcodes on packaging, even at high speeds and while in motion. Thanks to high-speed code recognition and omnidirectional scanning across up to six sides, all relevant information is reliably read regardless of position and orientation.

The captured data is processed in real time and passed directly to the higher-level control system via a defined interface. This ensures a clear assignment of each medication to the corresponding e-prescription or order, thereby ruling out mix-ups.

In addition, the system enables automatic packaging verification, in which the provided packaging is checked against the order, as well as an integrated counting function that records item quantities during the scanning process. The result is a continuous, transparent, and controlled process.
